Virtual Dance – What!

Hey Everyone!

Today is about the 6th week in quarantine and I’m feeling a bit anxious, excited, and determined. This quarantine and whole epidemic was nothing anyone ever expected.

As a dancer, I have taken my quarantine into deep consideration and really thought about my life and what I could be doing. I decided to take these several weeks to get closer to God, deepen my understanding of dance and increase my technique in dance, etc. During this time, hundreds, maybe even more have come together all across the world just to provide free dance classes on all social media platforms. Dance classes range from ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, Bollywood, hip hop, you name it, It’s all on there.

Instagram has a beautiful platform for everyone anywhere to take virtual dance classes. Throughout this quarantine I have been non-stop taking all of the dance classes I have wanted. I’ve taken more ballet classes to develop my technique and increase my knowledge. Hip-hop and contemporary classes have also been a stepping point to help me grow.

There are a few dance companies that I highly recommend. These people have phenominal knowledge and I have learned a ton just by taking the class for one hour.

My recommendations are:

-Pennsylvania Ballet – ballet

-Gaynor Minden – ballet

-Dexandro D. Montalvo – contemporary or hip hop

-The Dash Academy – movement and critical thinking

-San Francisco Ballet – ballet

-Bloch Dance – variety of classes

All of these classes are on Instagram Live, there are several that are also showcased on Facebook.

Thank you guys, I hope you all are staying safe and healthy.

Have a great weekend!
