Guess what day it is? Its Wednesday!! and I don’t know about you but I am feeling refreshed and energized and excited to write/talk to you all today about these books I have had for a few years now and I highly recommend you all read them for knowledge and gathering information to take with you as a dancer.
Many of you probably already enjoy the art and soothing aspect of reading and learning more and more. To be honest, reading was and has not been something that I enjoyed throughout these years but I have begun to expand my knowledge of thinking and wanted more insight on things so reading became IT. Since then, reading and taking notes on these books I’m about to talk to you about has changed my perspective and helped me through my dance journey and I continue to dance daily, weekly, and monthly and grow more and more in dance, reading these books have truly been a BIG help.

The first book – Dance Anatomy 2nd edition by Jacqui Green Haas. This book is not any ordinary book, it’s not a book to just read through within a day or week. I would recommend acting on these exercises given and taking notes. This book not only gives important information on how to activate the correct muscles but there are pictures of figures and it shows you what is being said in the book. This book gives a step-by-step process, dance focus points, a diagram, and a guide on how to do each exercise or dance step right at home or wherever you are.
Book #2 – Technical Manual and Dictionary of Classical Ballet by Gail Grant. For anyone who needs or wants to expand your ballet knoweledge, this books is a tremendous help. There are a few pictures at the end of the book that explains the 8 positions of ballet from Efface, Eccarte, Croise, A La Seconde, etc and it explains the different styles of ballet from Russian to Cecchetti method. It gives definitions of each ballet step and basic word instructions on how to execute in on your own.
These 2 books have not only expanded my knowledge through the body but also guides me through every step I take and Im able to incorporate these simple steps into my daily routine. You can find these books on amazon. Have fun reading and learning:)
